Refund policy

Returns

Material Magic does not offer refunds for change of mind so please select your fabrics carefully.  

If you have been invoiced your fabric order, it is your responsibility to check the invoice reflects your order correctly, specifically fabric design, fabric quantity, fabric base and delivery address.  Your order will be processed based on the invoice details, not on any previous communications. By making payment of your invoice you have confirmed your order which is non-refundable as per my T&Cs.  

Given the nature of Material Magic as a preorder business, we do not accept returns due to change of mind or customer errors when ordering as all preorder fabrics are printed to order. No order can be cancelled once preorder fabrics have been sent off for printing which is the closing date of a preorder. i.e. If the preorder you have ordered from has closed, you are unable to change or cancel your order.   

Additionally, for any retail fabric orders, if the fabric has not been cut then edits can be made to an order, however, if your order has already been processed you are unable to make any changes to an order. Retail orders are processed within 1-3 working business days of order being made.  

We do not accept returns due to change of mind however if you receive a faulty or damaged item we will happily accept a return of the faulty item in exchange for a full refund or a replacement. Please see faulty fabric policy below.

Fabric Variances - Colour, Weight, Texture

Every time fabric is printed it will come from a different batch or fabric roll which means there will be slight variances between fabric colours, material feeling and even fabric weights (within reason). Due to the digital printing process an exact print every time is not guaranteed, for instance, if you ordered a design and then 6 months later ordered again, there may be differences between these fabrics as they will not have been printed at the same time. Material Magic will no be reimbursing any customers in the event of these fabric impacts (variances in colour, weight, texture).

Faulty Fabrics

We have a 7-day return policy if an item is considered faulty, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return and providing proof of fault. The delivery date is from the date your item is delivered as per the courier tracking service, not from when you opened your fabric satchel. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unwashed, and in its original packaging. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase to validate the fabric order demonstrating it is Material Magic fabric.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@materialmagic.com.au. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.  Please read the below for confirming what constitutes as faulty.

As we are a digital printing businesses, ink can get on the reverse side of the fabric. In the event of this occurring, if the ink goes through and impacts the design then it is considered faulty and the below terms apply. If the ink can not be seen on the reverse and does not impact the design this is not a faulty and is a result of the printing process. 

We will not discount any flaw that is less than 1cm in size or within 10cm of the selvages.  If you receive a fabric with a flaw larger than 1cm or greater than 10cm from the selvage, please email info@materialmagic.com.au and we will either discount your fabric or accept the fabric back for a refund. The postage cost for returning the fabric will be paid for by the customer. 

Due to the custom nature of the product, we cannot guarantee that we will have the fabric in stock to replace your order.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Australian Consumer Law, certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). As Material Magic offers a custom preorder fabric business, customers are not entitled to a refund due to a mistake the customer made when ordering, or if the customer changes their mind during the preorder printing process.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
